April Showers...

Few things in life can make me as happy as my flower garden. I don't know why, but I wait all year from my pink flowers to bloom and then I sit and watch them. Really, sometimes I just go and run outside to see if they are still there, AND THEY ARE! Strange, some may say, but in reality I really just like my flowers. As we are PINK fanatics, we went for all pink flowers, mingled with a few purple (mostly purple to remind us of our Aunt Heidi, shout out to you Heidi Ho!). We plan daisies that will come up in a month and then tulips because my husband doesn't remember much of his childhood, but he does remember tulips in the garden. SO in every house and apartment we have been in for the past 9 years, we have always had tulips. So feel free to drive by, and why don't you bring a chair, and we both can sit and stare at my garden. Heck, and if you see a weed, pull it out.

Sacrament Meeting

This was totally our sacrament meeting last week!
I often wonder if the people giving the prayers are even thinking about the poor mothers who are desperatly trying to keep their child quite during the prayer, doesn't help when it is a doozy long one. Even better is the expression on the fathers face. I could swear that is Tyler ;)

Should I be upset?

This could go two ways, to be upset or not to be upset, that is the question. I have learned after 7 years of parenting, that I just don't care when my kids color on themselves, even in permant marker. How can you be upset about artistic expression? I did google "how to get permanant marker off skin" and had 168,000 results. I liked this responds the best

I frequently use Sharpies on my skin to test out whether or not I'd like a tattoo there or not, and just to have fun creating temporary ones.I've gotta say, out of the 12 years of doing this, the dish detergent thing has worked best for me. Soap and water fades it, or course, but once faded it's even more annoying to have there because it can take days of scrubbing to get those last little marks away. I started using dish detergent a few years back, and bam! Gone with minimal scrubbing.

So I tried the minimal scrubbing with dish detergent, which didn't work, but have to say I am more worried about what Tyler is going to say (he thinks I am not very good at watching the kids while he is at work ;)

*** Tyler just walked in and saw her and said "You let her do that" Yeah, that is it

**** She got up the next morning and had slept on her hand, her face is red now too like something from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, YIKES!

Utah Wives

Have to say living in Utah for the past 7 years, I totally agree with this!

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.

The first man had married a woman from Kentucky, and had told her that she was going to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man had married a woman from Wyoming . He had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a beautiful woman from Utah. He told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye enough to fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.

Amen to that!

Easter with the Cluff's

LOVE the Neighboorhood! We had the annual easter egg hunt in the neighboorhood where all the parents bring 10 eggs per kid and we hid the eggs in the empty lots. Luckily we have alot ;) Who is still excited that Emma has blue eyes?

Audrey is such a HAM for the camera... just like her mom!

Why can't they make a dye that doesn't dye the fingers. I am sure this look will be just fantastic with her easter dress!

Whatever the holiday, I guess we always have fun! Emma went with Tyler to Cabella's because I hate messes and she would have made one. He either really loves me or just knows me ;)

All I have to say is PHEW!

Dads Vs. Mom's at the Play Place

I went to Del Taco last night, which is really amazing because they just opened one right down the street from us so I don't have to get on the freeway and drive 2 exits anymore. Big Event in my life. I am a HUGE fan of play places ;)

Anyways, I was there with another mom and we were chatting, reprimanding our children, and praying for them to eat the food we spent money on. All of a sudden a father opens the door of the play place, slides in his 18 month old daughter, closes the door, and gets in line to get food. The little girl just stood there. I looked at the other mom and we just started chatting about the differences between mom's and dads during play places. As a mom, I walk them into the play place, make sure they put their shoes in the designated slot, sit down, and stare at them until the get bored. Dad's drop off, hope for the best, and mostly just annoy the other mothers around them because now they feel responsible for another kid.

This mom was telling me about a time that she was at this particular play place and the father sat outside the play area reading a book while his 3 kids ran around the entire restaurant and play place(mothers were very appalled by the behaviour, of course ;) Then I told a story about how we were at the McDonald's play place a couple of weeks ago and this 2 year was running around the parking lot. Finally, a mother grabbed his hand and walked into the play place and yelled "Who does this kid belong to". A father looked up from his newspaper and went and got his kid. It was like HELLO YOUR KID WAS RUNNING OUTSIDE BY HIMSELF, but the kid was happy, the dad was happy, and all the mom's in the room had suffered a severe heartattack, hugging their children ;) I understand that dads and mom's are suppose to relate to their children in different ways, but really, let's not lose the child. lol.

It is just amazing how different moms and dads are at these play places. AND even more amazing is how these kids survive play places with their dads . And then I would like to throw out the question, as mothers why does it bother us that they aren't as high drama at McDonalds. Are we just really jealous that we can't sit and read a book and relax? I will never know or maybe I will just never admit to that!

* I do have to add though, that my husband is totally anal about play places and really put me to shame at watching them. I am really more free spirited then him, but I also am the oldest of 10. So I guess it is not all dads.

Visiting Teaching Message for the month

I just got put in as the visiting teaching supervisor for our ward, so I thought, in the spirit of my calling, I might share this message for the month that I got from a friend....

AND... I thought this was only happening in our ward.....
